Bodega Bay After filming “Shadow of A Doubt” in Santa Rosa in 1948, Alfred Hitchcock returned to Sonoma County in 1961 to find a remote coastal location for his next project “The Birds.” He chose Bodega Bay, with surrounding bleak treeless hills, quiet fishing harbor and fog. Bay News & Upcoming Events… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Linda and Dan of Bodega Bay Heritage Gallery are presenting a new show of "Old Locals / Notables" featuring example paintings by 32 famous Early California painters in Northern California at the turn of the Century. Several were early members of the Bohemian Club, including Meyer Straus, Ransome Holdredge, Gordon Coutts, Charles Graham, James Everett Stuart, and Gustave Liljestrom. Historic scenes of Yosemite, the Sierras, Mt. Shasta, Rodeo Cove, Mt. Tamalpais, and the San Francisco Bay. The Bodega Bay Heritage Gallery is down the driveway to the lower parking lot of the Blue Whale Building on Eastshore, behind Local Color Gallery and not far from the Ren Brown Collection and the new Smith & Kirk Fine Art and Custom Framing.
