The historic town of Bodega, nestled in west Sonoma County, CA played host to Hitchcock's "The Birds"in 1963. I shot this photo of the famed Schoolhouse from a vantage point I have not seen in any other photos - from atop my roof a quarter mile away, facing downtown. I used a 16-85mm VR Nikkor Wide-Angle Telephoto Lens, set at 50mm in the pitch blackness - before the moonrise could wash out the incredible star-scape. My only focal point was the illuminated windows on the right side of the Schoolhouse - the rest I couldn't see through the viewfinder until after the exposure.
