Nature photographer Paul F. Gill's California Poppy Sonoma Coast was taken on a spring day on the Sonoma Coast. It was taken on a wild section of the coast. A steep and rugged section, you probably must be a local to know where it is located.
Wildflowers along the Sonoma Coast occur in Spring from as early as March and sometimes into June. The Pacific Coast winter storms have drenched the soil with inches of moisture. As the warming temperatures from increasing daylight occur the coast will bloom with wildflowers. Many different species of wildflowers can blanket the bluffs above the Sonoma Coast.
