33rd Annual International Coastal Cleanup Day! – Sept 16th

California Coastal Cleanup Day is Saturday September 16th, 2017. It is one of the country’s largest volunteer events of the year and many of the clean-up efforts will be occurring right here on the Sonoma Coast.

Last year in Sonoma County alone, hundreds of volunteers came out to support our coast’s clean-up and over 4,000 pounds of trash and recyclables were picked up.

We need your help to ensure this year’s event will be even more successful at removing marine debris.

Marine debris is a serious issue, which goes beyond being just unattractive, it is a major factor in the declining health of ocean ecosystems, kills ocean wildlife, and also serves as a public health threat. If you choose to be a sponsor, you are helping to protect precious resources plus you will be given the opportunity to promote your company through media surrounding the event.

Coastwalk California is the only non-profit in Sonoma County designated by the California Coastal Commission to coordinate the Sonoma Coast Cleanup. With the help of dedicated volunteers, Coastwalk continues its legacy of introducing thousands of people to the natural and human history of the spectacular California coastal landscape and helps to promote its conservation.

Coastwalk’s effort to keep our Coast beautiful is made possible through generous contributions from the Sonoma County community. We greatly appreciate sponsorships to help us coordinate and run the event. We also appreciate in-kind donations of various items that will be used at the clean-up, the picnic, or the raffle. Some in-kind items needed are clean-up supplies (gloves, trash grabbers, hand sanitizer), beverages in aluminum cans, food items for the volunteers, and raffle prizes. Any level at which you are able to help out is appreciated.

Businesses can also participate by volunteering at the cleanup itself or help in recruiting volunteers. Please pick your favorite location on the Sonoma Coast and sign up here.

Please see the attached “List of Sponsorship Levels” and their corresponding benefits. For more information about the event and sponsorship you can contact Josephine McCormick jo@coastwalk.org, or call Coastwalk California at (707) 829-6689.

Thank you for your support and together we will work to keep the Sonoma Coast beautiful!

Kind regards
