Local fishermen rescue entangled gray whale

Chris Smith of The Press Democrat is reporting that three Bodega Bay Fishermen on a crab boat were able to free a migrating gray whale from fish-net ropes that had entangled the whale since April 17th. Complete article is HERE.

Skipper Mark Anello and his crew were about 4 miles off the Sonoma coast when they spotted the whale in the fish-net and it took about 90 minutes to free the whale.

Bodega Bay Chowder Queen Carol Anello is no doubt a proud mother today as she reads all the articles about the good work done by her son Mark and his crew aboard the Cape Ommaney fishing boat. You can read more about the Anello family on the Spud Point Crab Company website.

Hats off to Mark and his crew for a job well done off the Sonoma coast!
